Flossie Hercules C 130 wreck in the Namib desert

The C‑130 Hercules — affectionately called “Flossie” — became one of the South African Air Force’s most important workhorses during the Border War.
It flew daily troop and supply missions to the South West Africa/Angola front, and later civilian L‑100s from Safair were added to meet demand.
Its reliability and load capacity made it essential for sustaining long‑range operations throughout the conflict.
